Kardashian Card a New Scheme

When I first heard that Kim Kardashian was sponsoring her own prepaid card, I thought: What a ridiculous idea. Cosmetics, clothes, perfume, self-tanning gel, OK. But a MasterCard? But when I thought about it a little more, it made perfect sense: What better way to learn about profligate spending and wasting money than this card?

At $100 a year in fees - that's just for starters - this is one of the most expensive prepaid cards on the market. You get dinged $1.50 each time you withdraw funds at an ATM machine and $2.00 each time you pay a bill via bill pay. On the positive side, there's no activation fee and direct deposit is free, but that's true of most prepaid cards. There also doesn't appear to be a reload fee at retail outlets, but then retailers usually charge their own fees, usually $4.95.

With normal usage, I would estimate this card will cost you more than $200 a year, not $100. But hey, fame doesn't come cheap.

♥ Chanel Nail Polish Collection

Oh la la! I love these nail color shades from Chanel Les Khakis de Chanel Nail Polish Collection. In celebration of Fashion’s Night Out, which is coming next month, the Global Director of Chanel, Peter Philips has a created a collection of three Les Vernis Nail Colours. Very hot and sophisticated shades for fall.

The three shades are:

Khaki Vert
Khaki Brun
Khaki Rose

The colors give off a vintage-military feel which sorta reminds me of J.Crew’s Fall 2010 collection. The nail colours retails for $25 each and will be available September 10th!

Curls, Curls, Curls ♥

Short Curly Hairstyles are a hot trend right now especially in hollywood. It’s a fun, sexy look that is very easy to do. Want hair like the celebs? Get inspired by these celebrity hairstyles and find out how to achieve the look with these step-by-step instructions.

Soft, Loose Curls is a very romantic look and it’s a great style to wear for a date. Here’s a very basic way to get soft curls-

1. Grab a thick curling iron and spray thermal heat protectant from root to end.
2. Take a chunk of your hair and starting at the tip, wrap your hair around the iron.
3. Leave it there for a couple of seconds then release.
4. Repeat until entire head is full of curls. If curls look to perfect, use a texturizing spray and use your fingers to separate curls.
5. Grab your favorite hairspray to keep your curls intact and your done!

♥ Peace, Love, and Juicy

With its ten year anniversary vastly approaching, Juicy Couture’s is launching its newest creation- a summer scent to wear in the colder months of fall thanks to its floral notes and California roots. Peace, Love & Juicy Couture scent has a floral mix of honeysuckle, black currant, Malibu poppy, linden blossom, lemon tree Blossom, jasmine, star Magnolia, sweet apple accord, and wild hyacinth, with a dry down of musk and sheer patchouli. The scent sounds amazing! As for the design, the glass bottle is beautifully adorned with a heart-shaped peace sign and bright pink tussels wrapped in turquoise beads. You can wear it as a bracelet too. That’s always a bonus!

Peace, Love & Juicy Couture will officially launch in September but for now, you can stop by your nearest Nordstrom’s and pick up an Eau de Parfum rollerball priced at $18. It will launch as a limited-edition product.

my WORLD CUP fever is over ♥

In the aftermath of the game against Spain a lot has been said and written on Queiroz and his choices. His choices when selecting the team for South Africa but most of all his choices before and during the eight-final game against Spain. Some believe he should be replaced. The name Scolari often pops up in comments. Either to compare or ask for his return. Names for the job are already heating discussion.

I understand the frustration with Carlos Queiroz. I think he could have done better. Today everybody is a coach. Everybody is saying they wouldn’t have replaced Almeida. Everybody is saying they wouldn’t have played Costa as right-back. Nobody has any praise for him now. He could have taken the team to the final playing the way they played and lose and still be the sole one to blame for us not leaving South Africa crowned world-champions. Nothing satisfies the crowd. Nothing.

What bugs me now the most is he seems unwilling to accept any responsibility for the game’s outcome. He refuses to admit perhaps he did fuck-up his initial 23-men draw. He took 2 right-backs to South Africa and ended up improvising a 3rd? At least he’d have to admit his choices were screwed up to start with.

Now that it's over I had so much fun watching the games with my best friends and partying it up like we do luso-americano style :) here are some pics re-living 2010 World Cup from NEWARK, NJ <3

♥ haters and backstabbing bitches

You know, i wish i could sit here and say i know it all. The truth is, i dont. We all want to know as much as possible so we arent disappointed or caught off guard by the unknown. The fast is, every single person is different. We can never really know what people really think or feel. Or what their true intentions are, whatever they may be.

So the choice we are faced with is remain blind, ignorant and with a child-like view of the world, so innocent, just take the leap of faith, and hope we dont splat on the ground below. Then theres the other option, which is to be so guarded, so in control, that inevitably we lose ourselves in the process.

Being careful and guarded arent always bad things. Yes, there will always be the liars, the cheaters, the abusers, and those complete jackassery ass monkies who like to tear other people down when they dont get their way, or because they are insecure about themselves. The trick isnt to figure them out. Its not to expose them for what they are, or to brand them as the incompitant losers they really are.

The trick is to take the damage they inflict and wash it away. If you turn it inwards, it will eat away at you like a cancer, never ending, unyielding, and it will inevitably destroy you from the inside out. And in the end, you will turn into them. Dont give them that power over you. They only have power if you allow them to have it.

Just let it all go. There will always be the haters, the assholes, the backstabbing bitches. There will always be the ones who come crawling back with their appologies and guilt ridden faces begging for another chance. There will always be the people who try to pull you down with them, because their life sucks, and they dont wanna be lame by their selves, mysery really does love company.

But i say, wash it all away. Mysery does not get my company today.

HELP HAITI through WYCLEF's YELE ! ♥

STATEMENT BY WYCLEF JEAN ON HAITI

"Haiti today faced a natural disaster of unprecedented proportion, an earthquake unlike anything the country has ever experienced. The magnitude 7.0 earthquake – and several very strong aftershocks – struck only 10 miles from Port-au-Prince. I cannot stress enough what a human disaster this is, and idle hands will only make this tragedy worse. The over 2 million people in Port-au-Prince tonight face catastrophe alone. We must act now. President Obama has already said that the U.S. stands ‘ready to assist’ the Haitian people. The U.S. Military is the only group trained and prepared to offer that assistance immediately. They must do so as soon as possible. The international community must also rise to the occasion and help the Haitian people in every way possible. Many people have already reached out to see what they can do right now. We are asking those interested to please do one of two things: Either you can use your cell phone to text “Yele” to 501501, which will automatically donate $5 to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund (it will be charged to your cell phone bill), or you can visit www.Yele.org for more information."

Make sure to look out for local food and clothes drives. Here are some other ways you can help:

♥ Top Ten Makeup Mistakes

1. Wearing dark lip liner with light lipstick is way out of date. Wearing matching liner and lipstick is the rule of the day for the new millennium. Make up that is understated is more in line with today's more natural scheme

2. Using your lip liner to draw a line that extends beyond your natural lip line is passé. Keep your lip line natural. There are newer products out now that can help plump up your lips. Hot lips types of lip glosses or enhancers are now available that can increase your lip's volume.

3. Drawn in eyebrows are also a thing of the past. There is now eyebrow powder that you can use to enhance your eyebrow's natural line. These powders are a more subtle look.

4. Eyeliner is a tricky thing. Keeping it in control can create a sexy look, while extending eyeliner too far past the corner of the eye can be over done. The Cleopatra look is great for Halloween, but for everyday it just appears overdone.

5. Clumpy mascara just simply looks very bad. This is where purchasing better cosmetics is worth it. Some of the cheaper brands clump up terribly or use a brush that isn't adequate. There are some low cost mascaras that really are good. Loreal has a few good ones.

6. Glaring blush is a definite 80's look. Use a large blush brush to apply blush so you get a nice blended look that is more natural. You want people to see your whole face when they look at you, for an overall appearance. You don't want them to be seeing just your cheeks.

7. There are different colors of mascara available today, teal being one of them. Teenagers can get away with the more exotic colors, but for a sophisticated look go for dark blue. This is for the woman who wants to be taken seriously.

8. I've seen many women make this mistake…they cake on foundation over problem skin. I need to first say that there is much that can be done today for women with problem skin. There are many products that can clear up skin issues, such as rosacea, acne or brown spots. For the women who have more serious issues, there are laser treatments, peels, microdermabrasion, and facials. Be sure to use mineral makeup if you have acne prone skin. If you have fine lines you can mix a quality moisturizer with your foundation to help fill in the fine lines.

9. Foundation should be blended at the jaw line. Many women just don't seem to catch this mistake even though they are looking in the mirror when applying their makeup! Most importantly, you need to pick a foundation color that closely matches your skin color. Use a sponge to apply makeup, which will go a long way in helping to blend your foundation line.

10. It used to be the thing a few years ago to line the eyelid half way with eyeliner. Today the advice is to open the eyes with a softer look by applying a powder liner and outlining the whole eye area above and below the eye.

So ladies keep it sophisticated. Dont go out looking like a blast from the past !
